Huguley's
Spirit of Women® will host "Picture This: A Happy, Healthy Childhood," a special back-to-school program on Thursday, August 11 at 10 am. Members and guests are encouraged to bring their children to this unique event, which features award-winning storytelling, a celebration of creativity and children's health information.
Local children’s author Susan Stevens Crummel, who wrote the popular Help Me, Mr. Mutt! and The Little Red Pen, will present one of her latest books. Stevens Crummel has won multiple awards for her picture books, including two Texas Bluebonnet Awards. A popular speaker, she has performed her books, using props and puppets for visual interest, in schools and libraries across the country and internationally.
In addition, Huguley Medical Associates pediatrician
Lisa Herrin, M.D., will have a short talk about children's health, followed by a question-and-answer session.
Along with door prizes and giveaways, Stevens Crummel will be available for book signings.
The event will be held at the
Huguley Fitness Center amphitheater. Admission is free and open to the public, but seating is limited and reservations are recommended.
