OCS and DecisionHealth have highlighted Huguley Home Health in the 2011 HomeCare Elite,™ a compilation of the top performing home health agencies in the United States.  This is the second time in five years that Huguley Home Health earned this honor. 

OCS, Inc., a Seattle, Washington-based healthcare research analyst, identifies the top 25 percent of agencies nationwide by comparing the quality of care, quality improvement, and financial performance of the approximately 9700 home health agencies in the nation.  The company uses publicly available data released by Home Health Compare and the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

The latest data released by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services, www.medicare.gov,  ranked Huguley Home Health higher than the state average on 16 of the 21 outcomes tracked by Medicare.  The 21 outcomes are Process of Care and Outcome of Care measurements common to patients receiving home health care, such as checking patients for depression at the beginning of an episode, decreased shortness of breath after an episode ends, improvement getting to and from bed after an episode ends, and remaining at home when home health care ends.

Huguley Home Health agency is a non-profit organization serving patients in Johnson and Tarrant counties since 1984. The agency is Medicare certified and has been accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.  Services available in the home include:  skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, home health aides, licensed medical social worker, and chaplain services.
