Gastroenterologist Syed Oqail, MD, has joined Huguley Medical Associates and will take over the Gastroenterology Center, located on the campus of Huguley Memorial Medical Center.

Board certified in gastroenterology, Dr. Oqail performs colon cancer screenings and treats inpatients and outpatients for conditions of the liver and digestive tract, such as inflammatory bowel disease, colitis, Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, acid reflux disease, gastric ulcer disease, malabsorption, pancreatitis, gall bladder disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and diverticular disease. 

Dr. Oqail comes to Huguley from Carrollton, where he practiced with Dallas Gastroenterology Associates.  His 15 years’ experience in gastroenterology also includes time in Austin and Phoenix, Arizona.

Dr. Oqail completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.  He did a fellowship in gastroenterology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.

He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology.
