Victoria Sykes Joins Huguley

Victoria Sykes has joined Huguley Memorial Medical Center as its Community Development Coordinator. In this new position at Huguley, Sykes will work to develop relationships with communities and businesses and will be a major part of an active community building team that will reach out through attending and sponsoring community functions and creating partnerships that are beneficial to businesses, Huguley employees, and community members.

“I want to build trust with business leaders and the general public so that they will feel comfortable approaching Huguley with ideas they might have about how we can partner together to better serve the community,” says Sykes.

A Burleson native, Sykes is a 2006 graduate of Texas State University, San Marcos with two bachelor’s degrees in history and social science. She brings her strong networking background to Huguley and the community. From 2007 to January 2011, Sykes worked as Field Representative for Congressman Chet Edwards, and most recently she worked for the City of Burleson as Assistant to the City Manager.

Kent Tucker, Vice President at Huguley, says Sykes’ new position is part of an initiative at the hospital to build stronger ties in the community. “Through this effort,” says Tucker, “we will be better able to share about Huguley’s many resources that already meet the community’s health needs, or we can partner to create the new resources that the community desires.”
