Hill College Honors Huguley Nurse

7/16/2008

Hill College in Cleburne presented Patty Welty with the Biology Academic Achievement Award for Anatomy & Physiology II.  Welty is a licensed vocational nurse at Huguley Memorial Medical Center and is taking prerequisite courses to enter an LVN-to-RN transition program.

“We encourage our LVNs who want to increase their skills and responsibility to become RNs,” said Tammy Collier, RN, FACHE, Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services.  “We congratulate Patty for her professional goals and academic achievements.”

Mrs. Welty, a nurse for 30 years, works in the cardiac catheterization lab at Huguley.  “Going back to school after thirty years is very challenging, because I’m also working full-time.  However, it’s very gratifying,” said Ms. Welty, who lives in Alvarado.
