The Huguley Fitness Center has expanded its summer swim lesson program to offer five two-week sessions. Open to the community, the group lessons are taught at six levels, ranging from introduction to water skills to stroke refinement and proficiency.
“Our swim lessons often fill, so we added two extra sessions this summer to accommodate more children,” says Teri Foreman, Huguley Fitness Center director. “Our success is no secret—we have great instructors, some have taught here five years. Plus, we keep a low ratio of students per instructor.” Levels 1 to 3 have a maximum of four students per instructor, and upper levels allow up to five students.
Six certified, experienced instructors teach the forty-five minute lessons, which are offered at eight times from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. An extra lifeguard is always on duty.
Huguley swim lessons follow the American Red Cross Aquatic Programs for Children and Families and the Learn-to-Swim program. Basic first aid and water safety are taught at each level with age appropriate material.
Group lessons cost $65 for Huguley Fitness Center members and $75 for non-members. Private swim lessons are also available. For more information, call 817-568-5304.
