Huguley Memorial Medical Center has admitted Throy Campbell to the Adventist Health System corporate internship program. Mr. Campbell will receive an overview of the revenue cycle processes, including admissions, billing and claim resolution, for Patient Financial Services for the four hospitals in the southwest region of Adventist Health System.
Patient Financial Services (PFS) is responsible for billing patient claims and working with the patient’s insurance companies to obtain accurate payment resolution for services rendered at each facility. PFS uses several different software products to bill an average of 236,000 claims per year.
“This is a very challenging position but also very rewarding. I appreciate the benefit of working for Huguley, a member of Adventist Health System, which shares my values and gives me the opportunity to help improve the lives of others,” said Mr. Campbell.
A graduate student at the University of Texas at Arlington, Mr. Campbell will graduate in August with a Master of Health Care Administration degree. He will earn a Master of Business Administration degree in December. Mr. Campbell completed his undergraduate degree in business administration at Prairie View A&M.
With six years’ experience in general accounting and finance, Mr. Campbell has worked as the general manager of Passley Gardens Hatchery and Agricultural Supply in Jamaica and as the program assistant of Prairie View A&M’s Cooperative Agricultural Research Center.
An Arlington resident, Mr. Campbell plans to work as a Director of Patient Financial Services for a hospital when he completes his education and training.
