Huguley Memorial Medical Center has appointed Christina Harris as the director of health information management. Supervising a staff of 21, she is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and confidentiality of personal health information and complying with the standards and regulations of electronic health records as determined by the Joint Commission and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Ms. Harris is a registered healthcare information technologist and a certified coding specialist with nine years’ experience. She has been a coding supervisor for Mercy Medical Center in Durango, Colorado, where she was named in the Top 50 in coding compliance nationally by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. For the last two years, Ms. Harris has done coding for Huguley Memorial Medical Center.
Ms. Harris earned an Associate’s degree in applied science from Tarrant County College. A resident of North Richland Hills, she is a member of the American Health Information Management Association.
