Huguley Memorial Medical Center’s surgical services provide advanced equipment and a surgical team dedicated to providing high-quality care. Whether you are admitted as an inpatient or your visit begins in outpatient surgery, you'll receive sophisticated care from our physicians and staff.
Our eleven operating rooms include two specially designed for open heart surgery and another for cystology. Our state-of-the-art equipment allows image-guided surgery that uses an advanced computer system and infrared sensors to assist surgeons during complex orthopedic and ear, nose and throat surgeries.
We offer many surgical procedures that allow patients to return home the same day, including:
- Minimally invasive surgeries

Vascular Access Team
 Huguley’s Vascular Access Team increases patient’s comfort, reduces wait time and eases anxiety for patients requiring IVs and other vascular access lines. The Vascular Access Team has special training to:
- Start difficult IVs
- Insert IVs under ultrasound
- Insert PICC lines
- Insert EJ lines
- Insertion of PowerWand
- Obtain arterial blood gas levels
Lidocaine is used to numb the area when IVs and lines are being started to reduce any discomfort a patient may experience. The Vascular Access Team is in-house during peak hours from 7 am to 7 pm weekdays and on call at all other times. |
