 Women's Services at Huguley Memorial Medical Center provides technologically advanced, high-quality, individualized maternity, newborn, and gynecological care in a family-centered environment.
All patient rooms are private and provide a home-like environment. There are seven spacious Labor/Delivery/Recovery rooms, two C-Section delivery rooms, six Postpartum suites, and 16 Antepartum, Postpartum and Gynecological rooms.
Each labor room is equipped with the Watch Child™ central monitoring system - a state of the art fetal monitoring and charting system. The Hugs and Kisses™ infant security system provides valuable added protection for the mothers and infants in our care and the department is locked daily from 10 pm until 5 am.
Specially trained nurses known as nurse clinicians attend each delivery to help with newborn stabilization and provide the highest quality care. Every infant is screened with the Natus Hearing Screener before discharge. A Lactation Consultant is available to assist new mothers with breastfeeding and is accessible by beeper after discharge for continued support. Postpartum nurses have received extra education and are also available around the clock for assistance with breastfeeding. Childbirth preparation classes are offered through the Huguley education department. Please view the Education Classes for more details.
